NOW OFFERING TELEHEALTH
(Also known as Telemedicine or Virtual Visits)
Edgebrook Dermatology is now offering Telehealth services for medical patients effective immediately. Our top priority is the health and safety of our patients. Telehealth allows patients to receive quality medical care from the comfort of their home.
At this time the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) along with the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) have released new guidelines and modifications to encourage Telehealth evaluations of medical patients in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This allows medical professionals to expedite Telehealth services to allow patients to be seen medically via a virtual visit from their phone, tablet or computer without having to leave their home.
Our staff believes in maintaining continuity of care and keeping our team readily available to all our patients. This is precisely the situation during which our clinic will remain open and be immediately accessible. We will help to decrease the burden on emergency rooms, help soothe troubling ailments and answer any medical questions.
Please contact us to schedule a new medical appointment via Telehealth or to change an upcoming medical appointment from “in clinic” to a virtual Telehealth visit. This will allow patients who have recently traveled outside of Illinois during the past two weeks, patients who are sick or patients who have recently been exposed to someone who is sick or has traveled outside of Illinois during the past two weeks to still be seen medically without leaving their home. Although we have modified the seating in our waiting room to allow for increased spacing as well as increased the frequency and depths of which we sanitize our clinic, social distancing is still the #1 recommended form of illness prevention at this time. Telehealth optimizes the ability to see a medical provider without having to step foot in a clinic.
Our medical clinic will continue to remain open during our regular business hours Monday-Saturday to accommodate in person medical appointments with our providers as well as Telehealth appointments. For your convenience you may now opt to be seen via telehealth effective immediately. We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our patients and we strongly believe Telehealth will do just that.
Any questions regarding Telehealth or medical appointments in general, please give us a call. We are more than happy to assist you. As always, we are extremely grateful to serve our community and appreciate your trust in our services. We wish all our patients well during this trying time.
Thank you and be well,
Edgebrook Dermatology & Maria Al-Basha, MD, FAAD
